Dedicated to 180th anniversary of Pyotr Tchaikovsky

Today the world celebrates the 180th anniversary of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s birth. The great Russian composer made an invaluable contribution to music and performing arts, inspired millions of people and through his creative genius rose thousands of new authors.

Boris Eifman turned to Tchaikovsky’s legacy many times. His music can be heard in the ballets The Idiot, Tchaikovsky, Red Giselle, Musagete, Anna Karenina, Eugene Onegin and, of course, Tchaikovsky. PRO et CONTRA which is a choreographic study of composer's personality and the worlds he created.

Today we are pleased to present you an excerpt from Boris Eifman's screen ballet Tchaikovsky. PRO et CONTRA with an opening speech by the Company leading soloist Oleg Gabyshev who performs the main role.
