First European voyage with The Pygmalion Effect

From November 17 to 20, the Company will tour in Berlin. New production The Pygmalion Effect and the famous ballet Anna Karenina to be presented at Theater am Potsdamer Platz. The performances will be held as the part of the international cultural project “Russian Seasons”. On October 15, at 12:00 the press conference of Boris Eifman and the head of the “Russian Seasons” Alexey Lebedev will take place at the theatre lobby.
The Berlin season opens with European premiere of the comedy ballet The Pygmalion Effect (it premiered in February 2019) set to the music by Johann Strauss the Son. In May and June, the production was enthusiastically welcomed by the spectators of the U.S. (it was danced in Chicago, Costa Mesa, Berkeley and New York). Then the audience from the other side of the pond experienced The Pygmalion Effect: in July, the Moscow premiere of the ballet took place at the Bolshoi Theatre Historic Stage as the part of the International Chereshnevy Les Open-Art Festival.
On October 19 and 20, the Company will delight German dance connoisseurs with Boris Eifman’s renowned choreographic masterpiece Anna Karenina. Berlin audience became acquainted with dance interpretation of the Tolstoy’s novel in 2012. Anna Karenina has never been brought to the capital of Germany since then.
Eifman Ballet performed triumphantly at Theater am Potsdamer Platz in June 2018. Last time local audience saw the ballets Red Giselle and Tchaikovsky. PRO et CONTRA.
