The performances in Beijing are held within the framework of the 3rd China International Ballet Season – the large-scale project, which includes performances of the leading companies from Russia, the USA, France and other countries. The opening ceremony of this festival went off in November 2017. It consisted of two gala concerts, in which Eifman Ballet soloists Lyubov Andreyeva and Oleg Gabyshev took part.
The last time when Eifman Ballet visited China was in September 2017. Four months ago the Company performed Anna Karenina and Rodin, Her Eternal Idol in Beijing and Shanghai. The performances were a real sensation among the spectators.
“Our Company visits China on a regular basis, and every tour in this country has been crowned with success. The Chinese theatregoers are familiar with the classic choreography heritage and do appreciate it. As for us, we present different art to them – psychological ballet of modern Russia. Over the last years, the audience in Beijing and other Chinese cities has not only discovered our Company’s repertory, but has fallen in love with it,” Boris Eifman points out.
