Eifman Ballet to make its debut in Barcelona

From December 17 to 23 Eifman Ballet will tour in Spain. The Сompany will perform in Pamplona, one of the oldest city of the country, and Barcelona. Eifman Ballet, which celebrates the 40th anniversary this year, will visit the capital of Catalonia for the first time. Audiences of both cities will see renowned Anna Karenina.
On December 17, the Company with give only one performance in Pamplona and on December 20 it will commence a series of shows in Barcelona. Eifman Ballet to give five performances in this city (on 23 December, there will be two shows of the production based on the novel by Leo Tolstoy).
In Barcelona, the Company members will perform at the iconic Gran Teatre del Liceu – one of the most prestigious venues in Spain, which remembers Anna Pavlova, Vaslav Nijinsky and other outstanding representatives of the ballet art dancing on its stage. With the capacity of 2,292 seats, Liceu is the second largest European opera house after La Scala in Milan. The performances of Anna Karenina at the Liceu will be accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Liceu. The famous Dutch conductor Conrad van Alphen will direct the orchestra.
