Eifman Ballet’s 41st season to open with a Chinese tour

From September 7 to 16, Eifman Ballet will perform in China. This tour will mark the start of the 41st season of the Company. Eifman Ballet will visit Shanghai and Beijing. In both cities the world-renowned ballets Anna Karenina and Rodin, Her Eternal Idol will be presented.

The Boris Eifman’s production based on the novel by Leo Tolstoy is already familiar to the Beijing and Shanghai audience. In November 2015, the ballet that was danced with a fabulous success during the large-scale Chinese tour of the Company that allowed local audience to discover the modern choreographic art of Russia. Rodin, Her Eternal Idol will be brought to the Celestial Empire for the first time.

Eifman Ballet will appear at the most famous venues of the country. The Shanghai shows will be held at the grandiose Oriental Art Center that is already known to St Petersburg dancers. In Beijing, the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) will host the Company’s performances (as was in 2015). This year, this major venue of China with a total capacity of up to 6500 spectators celebrates its 10th anniversary. The Beijing season of Eifman Ballet will open the program of the annual NCPA Dance Festival.
