Eifman Ballet delighted the audience of Kazakhstan

Eifman Ballet has triumphantly completed the tour in Kazakhstan which lasted from March 19 to 24. The Company performed in Almaty and Astana and presented the world-famous productions Anna Karenina and The Pygmalion Effect. The tour was held as part of the international cultural project Russian Seasons.
On March 19 and 20, the Almaty audience saw a choreographic interpretation of the immortal novel by Leo Tolstoy. On March 21, Eifman Ballet twice presented the production The Pygmalion Effect. It should be noted that this ballet to the music of Johann Strauss the Son was brought to Kazakhstan for the first time. In Almaty, the Company was hosted by the Abay Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre where Eifman Ballet had never toured before.
The tour continued with performances in Astana. On March 23, the Astana audience had a chance to see the ballet psychodrama Anna Karenina, and, on March 24, the production The Pygmalion Effect, filled with the life-affirming energy of the best Broadway shows, was presented. The State Opera and Ballet Theatre “Astana Opera” hosted the performances.
The audience of Kazakhstan enthusiastically greeted the Russian modern choreographic repertoire created by Boris Eifman and his dancers and generously thanked the Company for the given unforgettable emotions. Earnest ovations crowned all performances of Eifman Ballet. At the end of the performances, the audience actively shared their impressions on social networks. “Each dancer just lives his part,” one of the spectators concludes after watching The Pygmalion Effect. Another connoisseur of dance, who saw the same production, completely agrees: “Amazing performance, talented work of dancers.” The audience of Almaty and Astana call Anna Karenina a real shock. “An amazing ballet… When one can’t take eyes off the stage, and the heart is in pieces from the experiences of beauty…” this is how they characterize the production.
The performances in Kazakhstan completed the Company’s tour in Central Asia. It started in the first half of March in Tashkent (Eifman Ballet came to the capital of Uzbekistan with the productions Eugene Onegin and The Pygmalion Effect). Then the Company visited Bishkek for the first time in its 46-year history. For the audience of this city, Eifman Ballet presented the choreographic hit Anna Karenina.
