The shooting of the screen ballet The Seagull. A Ballet Story

On July 22, the shooting of the film version of the production The Seagull. A Ballet Story, the Boris Eifman’s tenth screen ballet in the modern history of the Company, will begin in St. Petersburg.

Boris Eifman himself will traditionally act as film director and producer. Sergei Trofimov will be the director of photography. The filmography of this sought-after and authoritative figure in Russian cinema includes such high-profile films and TV series as Night Watch, Day Watch, The Irony of Fate 2, Gogol, Vertinsky, Patient Zero, Monastery. In 2022 and 2023, Sergei Trofimov participated in the screen adaptation of the ballets Molière Passion, or The Mask of Don Juan and Russian Hamlet.

The stars of the Company will embody in the film the images of the main characters of the production: Vladimir Afonichkin (Konstantin Treplev), Mara Tudose (Nina Zarechnaya), Sergey Volobuev (Boris Trigorin), Maria Abashova (Irina Arkadina).
