Eifman Ballet’s new productions to be performed in St. Petersburg

The ultimate New Year’s gift for dance connoisseurs: a chance to experience the freshest titles of the Russian modern ballet repertoire.
This late December and early January, Eifman Ballet will perform at the Alexandrinsky Theatre. The Company will present a completely reimagined ballet Red Giselle – an original 21st-century choreographic masterwork delving into the tragedy of the brilliant ballerina Olga Spessivtseva (December 22 and 23). This production premiered in late August.
Performances of the ballet Crime and Punishment, released last season, will be held on December 24 and January 9 and 10. Boris Eifman, by his own admission, has been moving toward the creation of this choreographic interpretation of the textbook novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky his entire life.
