The shooting of the screen version of the production The Seagull. A Ballet Story
On January 30, the shooting of the film version of the production The Seagull. A Ballet Story, the Boris Eifman’s tenth screen ballet in the modern history of the Company, will begin in St. Petersburg.
Traditionally, the choreographer himself will act as film director and producer. Nikita Rozhdestvensky, a talented and sought-after filmmaker whose filmography includes many famous TV series and films, will be the director of photography. Young audiences probably know Nikita from his work on the sensational biopic Korol i Shut (King and Jester).
The stars of the Company will embody in the film the images of the main characters of the production: Vladimir Afonichkin (Konstantin Treplev), Mara Tudose (Nina Zarechnaya), Sergey Volobuev (Boris Trigorin), Maria Abashova (Irina Arkadina).
For the most attentive followers who do not miss our news, we clarify that last year Eifman Ballet had to postpone the filming of the adaptation of the choreographic interpretation of the brilliant play by Anton Chekhov. However, now, we hope, nothing will prevent Boris Eifman and his associates from realizing this important creative project.
