Moscow premiere of the screen ballet Russian Hamlet

An evening that brings together cinema and dance.
On August 3, the grand auditorium of Moscow Khudozhestvenny Cinema will host an exclusive premiere screening of Boris Eifman’s screen ballet Russian Hamlet. The film adaptation of the renowned production about Prince Paul, the future Emperor Paul I, will be presented to Moscow audiences by the choreographer himself, who worked on the project as director and producer. The event begins at 19:30.
Russian Hamlet was shot in St. Petersburg in 2023. The director of photography was Sergei Trofimov, a prominent figure in modern Russian cinema. The main roles in the film version were performed by Eifman Ballet stars: Maria Abashova (The Empress), Oleg Gabyshev (The Heir), Lyubov Andreyeva (The Wife of the Heir), Artyom Lepkov (Favorite of the Empress), and Igor Subbotin (The Ghost of the Heir’s Father).
